Post 26 – The Kiss

There he was on the floor, hunched over and fully engaged in his painting, looking so good. He was wearing a white T-shirt with a faded drawing on the front, and a pair of jeans, and…his feet were bare. Oh my! Oh my! Bare feet with denims. Oh my! The sex appeal was too much to take! I couldn’t focus on my painting! My mind started wandering; fantasizing.

Eyeing the freezer from the corner of my eye, my imagination ignited…

I sauntered aimlessly to the freezer. Seth followed me. I turned to face him. Standing, facing each other, he gently grabbed me under the arms and propped me up onto the top of the freezer. Sitting on the cold surface I felt the temperature rise in my body.

He then wrapped my legs around his waist and moved his lips toward mine ever so slowly…

Many white small refrigerators in a warehouse.

“So? Did you do it?” Seth asked out of nowhere.

I snapped out of my fantasy, feeling the blood rush to my head. “Huh?” I mumbled, feeling embarrassed.

“Where are you?”, he chuckled. Did you hear anything I said? Been talking for a few minutes now.”

“Um…sorry! What?” I said. “What did you ask?”

“Did you add the medium? The one I suggested you use?”

I looked at my painting, then back at him. “No, I decided to add more shading.”

“Oh ok! Can I have a look?” He asked.

He gently rested his brush beside his painting, stood up at an incredibly slow speed as though he was coming out of a long held yoga position, then coasted in my direction. I must have still been in my fantasy mindset because his movements were slothful yet airy. It was like a slow motion moment in one of those romantic movies when a man is about to kiss a woman for the first time.

Leaning over my shoulder he inspected my work. I stood as stiff as a statue, holding my breath, worried I might do something I would regret.

I wanted so much to kiss him at that moment!

All I had to do was turn around and press my lips against his! My mouth was watering just thinking about it!

My mind was racing, “Why? Why such distinct feelings for Seth and not so much for Myles? Is it distinct? Is it chemistry or is it the novelty? Anything new is certainly exciting! I was excited about Myles when our relationship began, I remember distinctly! Maybe this is the same thing! Is it exciting because it’s new or because we have chemistry? There’s no way of knowing unless I couple up with Seth and spend several years with him.”

I was so confused, and it was clearly obvious from my facial expression.

“Hey! What’s wrong?” Seth asked. “You seem perplexed!”

I exhaled. “Oh, nothing! I just have alot on my mind.”

I needed some air. Having him stand so close to me was not ideal. Maybe it was time for him to go home.

Seth walked in the direction of the stairs. “Want to take a little break? I know I could use one!”

“Ok.” I replied, still debating if I should send him home.

Waiting for me at the foot of the stairs, he motioned with his hand for me to join him. “Let’s have a sweet snack!”

“Ok, what do you feel like having?”, I asked, walking wearily in his direction. My gaze lowered as I focused on my feet walking the last few steps before climbing the bottom stair. Seth was still standing at the base. I suspected he would move as he saw me approaching. He didn’t. I was about to ask what the heck he was waiting for, and as my gaze rose up to speak with him face to face, he gently placed his hand on my cheek…

“This seems sweet!”, he whispered.

Then he kissed me on the lips!
